About the EpiSphere

Since opening in June of 1995, The Aerospace Education Center has been dedicated to becoming an invaluable resource for Arkansas’teachers and students. Through Its changing exhibits, educational workshops and summer programs, it has continued to expose studentsto a diverse field of scientific inquiry related to aviation and the space sciences.

The Aerospace Education Center is continuing its dedication to education in Arkansas with the creation of its newest venue- the EpiSphere, a state of the art digital dome theater that opened in 2004.

As part planetarium and part digital theater, the applications for this one of a kind venue are limited only by the imagination. Envision a field trip for students where they can study systems within the human body, tour the universe, or whirl into the center of a tornado- all while remaining in (or on the edge) of their seats.

It is so much more than the planetarium of old. Spectacular immersive virtual reality and cutting-edge technology are combined to offer Arkansans this one-of-a-kind experience in a 150 seat, multi use theater that incorporates the latest full-motion, 360 full dome video with unparalleled digital sound. Not only can this venue deliver the highest quality astronomical presentation, it also immerses the audience with surround sound and video.
